More of these, Really?

I was at a yarn shop with my youngest, and I was checking out some lovely yarn and thinking about what might be in the sale bin.... and she said, "I found the perfect yarn for me!" Which, translated means, "Mum, you can use this yarn and knit something fabulous for me, since I know you want to knit for me..."
Yes, really....two skeins of that "not even yarn" holey stuff that one jabs to create a ruffly scarf thingy.... I have made her this one and this one of these jabbing ruffly thingy scarves, and I thought that was enough....but...no, she wants two more...one in neon, and one with sparkles.....Really?

Knitting in Public ~

Very lucky day today, as I was knitting with the Jitteryknitter in several public places today. A few coffee shops, and one that was in a bookstore...where I realized that I was knitting the same socks that this famous fox is wearing....
Also knitting in public at a yogurt shop, outside in a lovely plaza. Just a bit of rain and a bit of sunshine, the perfect blend for outside knitting.
Bonus to be knitting on more than one item in one day, as the recent days are so busy that it is challenging to knit on anything! Perhaps now that summer has arrived (at least on the calendar, if not with our weather) we can do more knitting!!

Graduation Socks ~

Now that graduation has happened, I can show you how these sweet yellow socks turned out.
I think they are adorable!  The yellow is perfect, especially with the flamingos in my garden!

Boot Camp ~

Today is my one month anniversary of Boot Camp, a core and cardi workout three times a week in the wee hours of the morning in the same area where I run in the morning.  I had seen this group many times on my morning run, and they were always working hard and having a lot of fun too.  I knew one of the gals participating and she highly recommended it, so I joined on my oldest daughter's 18th birthday...  sort of a gift to myself to get back into shape and be healthy.
Well, Boot Camp with this group is fabulous. Most have been in the program for two years (when it started) and they all look great!  The instructor and her husband are so inspiring, and fun. They just completed the 1/2 Iron Man in Hawaii this month....I love this group!

Heels turning ~

While knitting with the chickens, I was able to make progress on these socks.  I turned both heels and felt very good to be working toward the cuffs.
This is the yarn that my daughter fell in love with at Stitch and Pitch last year. Not her usual bright neon colors, but very lovely. I think it would have made a beautiful shawl as well.

Knitting with Chickens ~

A lovely spring day so we decided to let out all the chickens to roam around the yard.  Even this year's youngest chicks, just to see how they would manage their freedom. Just to chaperone, I sat in the front yard and knit, and watched to be sure the young ones did not go crazy and head for the neighbors.
Well, turns out they were more curious about me then they were about their neighbors, as they stayed near me and investigated all things close by... including my toes.... I think they are loving my orange flip flops, as orange is such a great color - and so misunderstood..... in my next post, I will show you the socks I was knitting!

Home Team Treasure ~

Speaking of the Seattle Mariners Stitch and Pitch...where we first saw Jitteryknitters great and famous socks....well, each year we attend the Stitch and Pitch I get this crazy urge to buy the Hazel Knits sock yarn in the colorway, "Home Team" which are Mariners' colors, as Hazel Knits is one of our famous local yarns.  Well, I have never bought it, being a wee bit stronger than my crazy urge.... Meanwhile, last month Jitteryknitter inherits several bags of yarn and yarn magazines from a friend who has stopped knitting.  Look what is in one of the bags......
A very vintage skein of, yes, Home Team..... check out how cool the label is....so very vintage for Hazel Knits.....and being such a great friend, Jitteryknitter gave this skein to me!  Crazy urge has now become a happy dance!!
