Plying Shetland!

This plying is turning out well and I think this yarn will be soft and squishy! I'm excited to find out how many yards there are for a project!

Shetland Bobbin Two ~

Ready to ply this and first bobbin into a soft 2 ply. Plying will need to wait until the weekend when there is enough time to ply to completion! Yes, I am still knitting those sleeves for my custom fit sweater, can't believe they are taking so long!

Sleeves!

So excited to be knitting the sleeves on my custom fit sweater! Could I possibly be done knitting in time to wear this sweater to Madrona this year?!! Yikes!!!

Left Front ~

On to the left front of my custom fit sweater, in hopes that my gauge will be consistent to the right front and the back! This yarn is amazing to knit, very plump and springy, and soft too. Can't wait for this to grow up to be a real sweater!

Plying Merino/Bamboo ~

Last spinning and plying before end of holiday vacation. What a great holiday we have had as a family, plus lots of spinning and knitting too. This yarn turned out to be very different than the fiber appeared, as the spinning and plying seem to have muted the colors. Still beautiful, can't wait to see how many yards there are!

Happy handspun ~

Happy New Year to you all, and best thoughts toward a great year filled with lots of friends, fiber and happy knitting projects! I am having a great time knitting these socks with my handspun. This yarn received the highest praise yesterday when Patti said it looked like yarn made by Spincycle! They are the great spinners from Bellingham, Washington, and we love their yarn!
