Sadly running out of neon yarn

waiting for appointment and find out that I am almost out of my neon yarn for this helix hat. So sad, as these neon hats have been a blast to knit!

490 yards!

It seems like this fiber took forever to spin and ply, yet so happy that it is done and such a large yardage amount!  No wonder it took so long!!

Finally Plying!!

After all these months of slowly spinning singles, I am finally plying this fiber!  Still lumpy in parts, but feels lofty and soft!

Still Spinning!

I have been spinning this Abundant Fiber since October.  I need to finish the singles so I can ply it to see how the yarn feels. So far, the singles have some bumps and lumps, not sure if that would be from the merino or alpaca....just keep spinning!!!!

These are always the cutest hats EVER!!!Such a fast knit, too!

Am I Done Yet?

I think I am ready to cast off, as the new blanket is now as long as the one I crocheted in the 1970s. My youngest said that the length of the "old" blanket is perfect, so that has been our guide in length.  Can't wait to cast off this one and then cast on another one for oldest daughter's Christmas knitting!

Plying Cormo!

Cormo was a great spin and a fun diversion from my Abundant Fiber. One ounce spins and plys so fast, instant gratification! I needed this diversion over the weekend!

Emma's Flock!

I love how this turned out!Daughter helped pick out the colors, as we didn't want the "snow" to be white and interfere with the sheep, so the snow stitches (or lice as the Scandinavian's call them) are pink, top of hat is lavender heather and bottom is dark purple heather.  All from my Philosopher's Wool sweater leftovers. Daughter would like one with green bottom and sky blue top....with a longer cuff to flip up......sounds like a fun combination!

We Have Sheep!

This hat has been knit so many times, and most of the color combinations are adorable! So I'm taking a break from my helix hats to #bangoutabaable.  Using the leftovers from my Philosopher's Wool sweater from many years ago, yet still love these colors of purple and pink heathers!

Cormo Today!

I was feeling some spinning ennui with my most recent Abundant Fibers, even though it is lovely fiber and a joy to spin. The spinning is taking so long as I have not had a lot of spinning time, so it seems to be taking forever.... so I decided to mix up the spinning today by going back to my 2015goal of spinning a different sheep breed each month with my samples I bought from Woolgatherings. Today is Cormo, and this fiber is just what I needed to get past my spinning slump!  Soft and springy, and I hope to be plying before the weekend is over!
