Kool Aid Meriboo!

This is lovely fiber and the colors are more muted than the other Kool Aid dyed fiber I spun recently.  Oh, how I love all of it!!!!!!!!!

Charlie's heel turn!

Charlie decided that I needed help with the second heel turn, so he sat on my lap and played with the little bell I keep on one of my stitch markers.... I am finally done with both heels! Thanks Charlie!

Red Gussets!

These need to be done in July, and I am happy to be knitting the gussets now. They seem to be taking forever, perhaps on size 0 needles, perhaps because they are only red, red and more red...

Happy Spinning!

What a blast to be spinning our first Kool Aid dyed fiber from yesterday's adventure! This is Seldon the Corriedale, and the spinning is so happy to see these colors flowing from the wooden bowl into my fingers and on to the bobbin.  My Pocket Wheel is doing the work and I am having all the fun!

Snow Cone!

We are still having a blast dying all the fiber - this is another one from Mary Beth's farm in Upper Michigan, Lily the Leicester. We used Otter Pops on this one, and added blue and green so it is different than the first three adventures.  This certainly looks like a snow cone rainbow! What a great adventure we have had today!  I can't wait to spin all of this fiber!

Silk Race Track Dying!

I have this little bag of silk that was free from Fort Worden, and I am not really sure what it is. It came out of the bag like one big silk hankie, however I think it might be spinnable? Or knittable? No idea what it really is supposed to be - but how do you not use free silk from Fort Worden for this adventure?

Otter Pop Dying?

We are having a blast dying our fiber!  This fiber I bought at Fort Worden for $5 and it is Meriboo, 75% Merino and 25% Bamboo.  We ran out of Kool Aid already, however Otter Pops have the same, here goes another adventure!!!!!

Kool Aid Dying!

Inspired by Vinita at our knitters' retreat, daughter and I decided to spend the afternoon dying with Kool Aid.  This fiber is from Mary Beth's farm in Upper Michigan, her sheep, Seldon the Corriedale.

SPU bookstore - YES!

I am not sure why Seattle Pacific University has wool yarn in their bookstore, but I find this very comforting, as I've never seen yarn in any other university bookstore that I've been in! My daughter was here for orientation, so I was doing a bit of adventuring in the bookstore - 100% wool, too, no acrylic here!!! :)

Trying on prom dresses!

Actually, my daughter was trying on prom dresses and I was knitting. We were waiting for her second doctor's appointment, and decided trying on prom dresses was a good way to pass some time. We had a fun afternoon, even with lots of time at the doctor's!
