Vandals revisited ~

I'm still thinking about new projects... which means I'm looking at lots of patterns...

I saw this book while on our vacation, and it had lots of possibilities, even some Christmas Stockings which always have a special place in my knitting heart....

Perhaps I'll have to try one of these patterns for Vandals socks, and finish them before my kids are done with High School......that should be enough time?

Destiny achieved ~

Sometimes, if your knitting seems to be fighting you, you need to listen very carefully to find out what it is really supposed to be.

As much as I wanted this Noro and hot pink merino to be a gradient shaded scarf, of the Knit One Below or slip stitch variety... it just wouldn't do it...

Tried as I might, changing patterns and changing needles.....

The yarn combination wanted to be a hat..... in the spring, with the daffodils....

and it looks so great that I'm casting on another hat just like it with the leftover yarn!

Oh deer ~

While we were getting ready to catch the bus this morning, we had some visitors in our back yard.

Five deer were walking back and forth along the fence line, looking for a place to jump to the neighbors.

Thankfully they didn't try to eat the bamboo, or the daffodils....

They are really beautiful!

Volleyball stars ~

These gals are rock star volleyball players ~ I was lucky enough to get a chance to see them play, and oh-did-they-PLAY!!!!! I played volleyball in high school a million years ago, and we sure weren't this strong and tough on every point!

Hurrah Knights!

Undefeated in 2010!

Good work, team!!!

New Destiny ~

Well, I did try that Knit One Below pattern for awhile..... and I just couldn't knit it to look like those sweet patterns I've seen...

So, in light of the Olympics.... I decided that this yarn needed a new destiny.... a new calling... it needed to be a Gold Medal hat.....

Gosh, I feel better about this yarn and project already...... (I miss watching the Olympics...)

They are back ~

Look what was delivered this week!

Yes, 8 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies! Mostly Thin Mint, with a few of those Tag a longs... They were delivered while I was at the grocery store, and I arrived home 15 minutes after delivery, and my sweetie E had already polished off most of the first box of Thin Mints... Thankfully she did take these pictures of how they looked before she dove into the first box!

Major Yum!!! This will fuel a lot of knitting!

One below again ~

I really would like to conquer the pattern for Knit One Below, as the samples I've seen look so pretty.

So I ripped out the loooooong scarf that I thought I was knitting in Knit One Below (*sniff, sniff*), as I couldn't replicate the pattern I was translating after all these months (above). I couldn't get it to look the same... so rip rip rip......so I'm trying again (below) ...

wish me luck....and patience....
