What's in your basket?

Did you get a basket this morning? Was it filled with chocolate eggs (yum) and peeps (yuk) or perhaps a chocolate bunny? These are baskets that I am hoping for..filled with lots of yarn ~ ALL my favorite yarn (who do I talk to about this?).

Three is a charm?

Perhaps not really a "charm" when one is knitting squares... I've knit 3 of them, and am happy to be almost done with my assignment. Then I can get back to all the projects that I'm dreaming about.....
(in fact, I've just had a request to knit a hat with some beautiful yarn that didn't work out for my sister, plus I scored some left over Frog Tree Alpaca from Miss L!!!!! Way to go!!!!)

On her needles ~

During vacation, I read Vicki Square's article in the new Interweave Knits called "Start as Many New Projects as You Can," and her last sentence amazed me: "Knit anything and everything you want--and enjoy the scenery!" I had the delightful journey of looking through many "on the needles" of my great knitting friend who lives this casting on dream. As I held each and every piece of beautiful yarn and thought of the new pattern she used, I was starting to be twitchy as I wanted to finish each one....they were all so beautiful ~ lace scarves ~ alpaca scarves ~ socks out of pink delights~ socks out of boot wool ~ a hat out of Frog Tree ~ a sweater out of silky wool ~ so many chocolates to sample, so much inspiration in each bin and bag. I'm not sure I feel the need to finish up a project to its tidy ending..... when all those projects were singing a sirens' song of "play with me" in so many languages of silk, alpaca, wool and blends ~ lace, entralac and fair isle....So I will continue to live vicariously through her projects.... I wish I had some pictures of her great starts to share with you.....but here are her finished hats!

I need more projects on my needles!!!!

Sneak in another 2008 Cast On ~

Before 2008 is complete, I have cast on a new hat..... destined to be a black & hot pink one for rockin10, but..... turned out the Frog Tree Alpaca yarn is sport weight, and the hot pink is worsted weight and they did not work together in the stripes of the hat. So, since I had 3 inches of the brim knit out of the black, I pulled out the other Frog Tree Alpaca yarn (from our wonderful Birch Bay weekend) and started a hat out of my Hats: A Knitter's Dozen Birthday Book of hat patterns. The yarn is heaven to work with ~ and the little Yarn Lady in the picture came from my sweet knitting secret pal yesterday! Cute, eh!!!

Here is the hat, now completed at almost midnight!!!!! Whoo Hoo!!!!
