Birthday Zumba!

This birthday celebration keeps getting better and better! Tonight, Zumba with Jean, and I was rewarded with my first jangle scarf during the Zumba class! Thanks, Jean, for such a great class, and thanks to these great dancers that celebrated with me!!

Birthday Handspun Cast On!

Using my handspun and hand dyed yak silk from our 2016 Dye Day, I cast on the Diamond Cowl. I love this yarn! I love Birthdays!!

Zak Efron, Niall Horan, Luke Skywalker are part of the cupcake party now celebrating my daughter's birthday in our refrigerator, with a shout out pineapple to Shawn and Gus from Psych. Not seen are Aaron Rogers, Han Solo, Bernie Sanders...and a few more that I can't recall.  It has been a great party time all week!! 

Our second miracle turns 18 today ~

Happy 21!

Real birthday is May 6th yet we celebrate whenever we can get together!  Hurrah for 21 years old. Our first miracle and she continues to amaze us with her love, joy, inspiration and spirit!

Birthday Cast On ~

Of course we have to have our traditional Birthday Cast On today so we can think about the joys of birthday events each time we are able to knit on the Birthday Cast On project.  This year's winner goes to a Janina Kallio design, the Orbit shawl, using some lovely Jitterbug with my Signature Needles.  All good knitterly blessings for a project!!!

Camping 2014 ~

Now that we are all home, let the camping trips begin!  Our first trip to the river with our dear friend, and neighbor kids, all helping to celebrate our youngest birthday - sweet sixteen.

The weather was hot, the river was cold and the sky was clear for star gazing. A perfect camping weekend on the river, as I was able to do some serious knitting!  Hurrah!

Hey Nineteen ~

Wow, can my first miracle be 19 years old already?  Just doesn't seem possible, as I recall that first "birth day" as clearly as if it happened last year. Such a delightful baby, growing up to be strong, tough and brave, yet full of love and joy. She inherited patience and grace from my mom, and a calm energy that goes the distance for whatever endeavor she conquers next. 

A kind heart combined with a delightful sense of fun, often playful and always amazing. Best friends with her sister, our second miracle, and when they are together the laughs and chatter never end. This is the miracle of our first born. You continue to delight and amaze me, just as you did when you were born!  Here's to another great year ahead!  P.S.  She loved her orange socks!
