No Vim this year ~

March Madness has already turned into March Sadness for Michigan State fans. After a major "come from behind" we made it sooooooo close, but lost by 2 points. Tom Izzo (from Northern Michigan University) is still the greatest coach!

How sad to be out of the tournament already. I usually get so much knitting and sweetie time during March Madness!

Spring Break #13 ~

Waiting for the plane in Las Vegas... and able to do some knitting on the Whidbey scarf while waiting...

With the flashing and bing, ding, ching of the slot machines in the background. The sad part of waiting at the airport was watching Michigan State lose to Butler in the last second of the Final Four game... I love vacation....

Michigan State Madness~

Getting ready for the big Sweet Sixteen game today with Michigan State... this is how best to prepare....

Until then, check out the Michigan State Fight Song, better yet, sing along with this amazing 4 year old (I wish I could tell you who he is... what a great singer!),

On the banks of the Red Cedar

Is a school that's known to all;

Its specialty is winning,

And those Spartans play good ball;

Spartan teams are never beaten,

All through the games they fight;

Fight for the only colors, Green and White.

Go right thru' for MSU,

Watch the points keep growing.

Spartan teams are bound to win,

They're fighting with a vim.

RAH! RAH! RAH!

See their team is weakening,

We're going to win this game.

Fight! Fight! Rah! Team, Fight!

Victory for MSU!!!

Fighting with a vim ~

Knitting during sports events is a great way to multi-task while spending time with your sports loving sweetie. Tonight was no exception as we watched Michigan State and North Carolina. Since North Carolina was in President Obama's bracket to win, I suppose they were "well motivated" to win....The turnovers sank our Michigan State, and the only good news is we have only one senior that won't be back next year. So "wait until next year" will be our motivation until the next March Madness arrives. P.S. Did I tell you MSU's coach, Tom Izzo is a Northern Michigan University alumni?

Until then, check out the Michigan State Fight Song, better yet, sing along with this amazing 4 year old (I wish I could tell you who he is... what a great singer!), here are the words:

Michigan State in Final Four!

What a game tonight! Michigan State advances to the Final Four after a hard fought game against the Huskies of U-Conn. What a great game! Final score, Michigan State 82; U-Conn 73.

In honor of the Final Four, I cast on 204 stitches for the Tahki Stacy Charles top called Textured Lacy Pullover. I am knitting the top in the round, so there will be a bit of change to the pattern. I don't like sewing seams at the end of a knitting project. I'm using some very soft pima cotton ~ tencel blend by Classic Elite Yarns called Premiere and so far it is good to work with.
P.S. Did you know that MSU's coach is Tom Izzo, of Northern Michigan University?! Hurrah!

Michigan State advances!

"Fighting with a vim!" Michigan State has a great fight song, as I don't know any other school that fights with "a vim" as I'm not sure what a "vim" really is.... but the team just squeaked a win tonight and are advancing to the Elite Eight! Yippee! No knitting during this game, but some knitting fantasy. If you don't have time to knit a Spartan's hat for the next game, check out this site to order one!

March Madness ~

Yes, March Madness is upon us, and Michigan State is still in the dance! Hooray! We watched the game today, and cheered on our coach Tom Izzo, as we went to college together at Northern Michigan University ~ how cool is that? (very cool, indeed). Another very cool fact, is Izzo's roommate in college was Steve Mariucci... do you recognize that name from football coaching fame? Very cool, indeed! Another very cool fact, knitting can be done during basketball and football....
Very Cool, Indeed!!!!! (I'm knitting on the Bonnie ribbon tank top)
