Montana Targhee!

Loving this Targhee that I dyed, with help, at Bluemoon fiber arts dye day at the barn in 2016. My sheepbreed of the month for spinning is Targhee!  I've not spun this fiber before!

232 Yards Camel/Silk ~

So beautiful and soft!  Still some think and thin spots, yet lovey!  What cowl can I knit with 232 yards?!

Bobbin Two ~

This fiber is very slippery to spin, and I am finding I can't spin as thin as I'd like because it pulls apart. More training needed on this lovely fiber! It is going to be beautiful yarn!

Yak Spinning Again!

Just a quick time for spinning today, to be sure I have not forgotten the technique! This fiber came from our Blue Moon Fiber Arts Dye Day at the Barn. I had wanted much more of this Yak fiber, but this wee bit was all that was left.... Feels so great to be back with my wheel, with the July due dates completed. Hurrah for accomplished knitting due dates!

325 yards Yak/Silk ~

This yarn turned out to be amazing! Thanks to Tina @bluemoonfiberarts for your amazing guidance in the coloring of this "Vivid Violet" Yak and Silk fiber.  I can't wait to find a pattern that will show off the amazing color and texture of this yarn!!

Dyeing with the Master!

We had so much fun at our third Dye Day at the Barn today! So much creativity and inspiration, and fabulous hands-on teaching and wisdom from Tina, the Master Dyer!  She's helping me with the Montana Targhee here, and she also helped me with our "Violet Vivid-ing" Yak and Silk blend. So many laughs and ideas when Tina and Jessica are sharing wisdom. I have four fabulous fibers that we dyed, and I can't wait to spin them all!
