Holiday Break ~

This weekend was the 50th anniversary of our church. So there was a big celebration and lots of sparkles.

I didn't get in any knitting today..... I really need to get back to mum's blanket....

Gator Break ~

Another break in the knitting of mum's blanket. This break is called the Gators' game today.

The Gators did not win ~ rather amazing....

Wonderful break, but I need to get back to knitting on mum's blanket.....
Right now.....

Before and after ~

As I was reviewing my pictures, I found these two to be such fun in comparison. The first picture is taken on our driveway at home.

This one is at our church's anniversary celebration.

Yes, the people are the same in both...don't they all clean up nicely? (P.S. This is my brother, for whom I knit the Gators hat ~ shhhhhhhh! it is a Christmas surprise!)

Basketball break ~

After knitting so brave and true on mum's blanket, I am fantasizing about all other sorts of knitting. I have even stooped into the realm of getting crochet books out of the library.... Those watching me can see I am in need of a big diversion. Enter Michigan State Basketball, thanks very much... you're just what I needed tonight. If you need a refresher on MSU's fight song, click here.

So we watched Tom Izzo (another Northern Michigan University alumni) and his boys finish a heart wrenching game with North Carolina...losing by just a few points....

I knit on Sweet E's socks...what a feeling to be knitting on socks...how joyful are these socks! How light in my lap, how easy to turn them....almost done with the gusset....

OK team, break is over ~ back to mum's blanket....

Happy Birthday Dad ~

I am singing to Dad, as this is his birthday ~ lucky for him that he can't hear me singing until I call him on the phone. I've knitted Dad a few hats in my knitting career, but he's too hot blooded to need a heavy hat, plus his skin is too sensitive for wool on his tender skin on his head ~ but I love him anyway, and always, even if he can't love wool!

Hugs & kisses for you, Dad!

Sweet sixteen down ~

Actually, I may be farther along than sixteen balls of yarn. I am slogging to get this finished for Christmas, and I keep finding myself almost in a hypnotic trance as I knit.

Sweet E must have felt the same way, as she did fall asleep while I was knitting ~ so I couldn't resist covering her up with this lovely blanket!

It really is beautiful ~ and oh-so-soft!
